Meet Rose Chaney

Rose Chaney’s husband lost most of his vision as a result of a stroke three years ago. A retired school teacher, Rose doesn’t feel comfortable driving her husband to his appointments in Oklahoma City. “We used to have a really hard time getting there,” Rose says. “Our son is a contractor and it’s very hard for him to miss work to drive us.” Thanks to Southern Oklahoma Rural Transit System (SORTS), Rose is able to schedule rides to out-of-town appointments for her and her husband. “Our son is so happy that we are able to ride the bus,” Rose says.
