Meet Katherine Huggins
Due to a history of grand mal seizures, Katherine Huggins cannot drive and must have Willow, her service dog, with her at all times. She relies upon Enid Public Transit to get her and Willow to and from errands and medical appointments. “If public transit wasn’t available in Enid, my transportation issues would be huge because there’s not another service that can take me where I need to go on the days I need to go,” Katherine says. Not only does Enid Public Transit get Katherine and Willow where they need to go but the drivers and dispatch staff make sure she’s safe and well. “After my partner passed away, if I wasn’t running my regular errands or the drivers hadn’t seen me recently, dispatch would call to see if I was doing OK,” Katherine says.
