Meet Kylie Tate
For Kylie Tate, a Delta Public Transit driver, rural transit means family. To make her point, Kylie shared an instance where a regular rider was absent from his usual usage for a week. Both Kylie and fellow riders grew concerned and made a point to check in on the absent rider. “To see his face, because he didn’t think anybody cared, it made me want to cry,” Kylie explains. Without Delta Public Transit services, Kylie worries that the riders they serve would really suffer from the impact. “I know most of my riders don’t have drivers’ licenses or they are handicapped and they don’t have any family here to take them shopping or to their doctors appointments,” she says.
