Meet Major Ed Pulido
Maj. Ed Pulido (Ret., U.S. Army) understands firsthand the importance of public transit to veterans, especially if they’re dealing with a medical issue. Maj. Pulido was serving a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004 when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. Among other injuries, Maj. Pulido lost his left leg. For him, accessibility to public transit is personal. “In the early years of my recovery, I needed transportation to and from my appointments because I was missing my left leg and wasn’t allowed to drive,” he says. “I was honored and grateful that those drivers were there for me.” Maj. Pulido says that veterans’ access to public transit like Veterans’ Ride Connect is vital for not only the state but the nation. “Until you use this service you never know how important that service is to not only yourself but to the community at large he adds.”
