Meet Rep. Carol Bush
When her mother became confined to a wheelchair, Rep. Bush realized the challenges that others in similar situations faced when trying to get to medical appointments. “I’m now hearing from folks on fixed incomes that were like my mother, just trying to get to the doctor,” Rep. Bush says. “This is a huge portion of our population that we need to take care of and make sure they have the same opportunities other folks have.” She also understands how important public transit is to the economic stability of the citizens she serves. “Being able to move our workers from point A to point B in an effective and efficient way is critical,” Rep. Bush says, adding that “people are choosing where they live based upon access to public transit.”
