Ed Pulido

Maj. Ed Pulido (Ret.) understands firsthand the importance of public transit to veterans, especially if they’re dealing with a medical issue. Maj. Pulido was serving a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004 when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. Among other injuries, Maj. Pulido lost his left leg. For him, accessibility to public transit is personal. “In the early years of my recovery, I needed transportation to and from my appointments because I was missing my left leg and wasn’t allowed to drive,” he says. “I was honored and grateful that those drivers were there for me. That is when I understood how important transportation like Veterans’ Ride Connect is not only in the state but for our nation and its people. Until you use this service you never know how important that service is to not only yourself but to the community at large.”
