Meet Nedra Ruth

Nedra Ruth depends upon EMBARK to improve her quality of life. Legally blind since birth, Nedra has been an EMBARK user since 2010. “I used to take cabs but this is much more affordable,” says Nedra, who rides EMBARK nearly daily with her guide dog, Sophie. “Public transit makes me more independent.” Without EMBARK services, Nedra says she’d have to rely upon her family and friends to maintain an active, social life. “No one wants to be dependent on someone for that,” she says.
