Meet Kathleen Tall Bear

As the adult education director for the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribe, Kathleen Tall Bear sees firsthand the difference completing the GED program can have on a family. “Completing the program opens doors and opportunities to them to get a better job or even go to Vo-tech or college,” she says. In her role, Kathleen is responsible for distributing vouchers to students so they can use the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribal Transit to get to class. “Transit is another resource and it’s integral for our students,” Kathleen says. “If a client didn’t have access to the transit, they’d have to rely upon family to get them here or we’d have to try to provide the service.”
